Irregular and haphazard menstrual cycles corrected without “the pill”!
Posted on 2011-12-28 20:34:51
Menstrual cycles, also referred to as "period", are a result of a "hormonal orchestra" in a female, where various hormones in the body including estrogen and progesterone have to work in a perfect harmony. When such balance is interrupted by various factors in our environment, the hormonal orchestra no longer sounds good and various symptoms can arise. Some symptoms of unbalanced hormones could be the PMS symptoms which are not normal to have which could range from irritability, crying, and rage. Other symptoms of unbalanced hormones could be abdominal pain, low back pain, bleeding for too long or not bleeding at all, bleeding too much or the bleeding starts and stops without any regularity, acne, breast tenderness.
One of my patients was suffering with haphazard menstrual periods where the menses could stop and go whenever they pleased. She was tired of it and came to see me. In addition to chiropractic care I also recommended for her various supplements that she seemed to be deficient in as well as some specific supplements known to help balance hormones. She states that ever since she began taking the recommended supplements, within the first month, her period became very regular and predictable within a day. She stated that she does not remember having such perfect cycles in her life, short of a pill! Even though she no longer has been taking all of the supplements recommended in the last two months, she continues to have excellent regularity and “harmony in her hormonal orchestra” and absolutely drug free!
Sciatica, tight muscles and hormonal imbalance
Posted on 2011-12-15 21:07:24
Sciatica is
a set of symptoms including pain that
may be caused by general compression or irritation of one of five spinal nerve
roots that give rise to each sciatic nerve. It may also be caused
by compression or irritation of the left or right or both sciatic nerves. The
pain is felt in the lower back, buttock, or various parts of the leg and foot.
In addition to pain, which may be severe, there could also be numbness,
muscular weakness, pins and needles or tingling and difficulty in moving or
controlling the leg. Typically, the symptoms are only felt on one side of the
body. Pain can be severe in prolonged exposure to cold weather and can be exacerbated
by cold and damp weather.
Sciatica is a relatively common
form of low back pain and leg pain. However,
sciatica is not a diagnosis, but rather is a set of symptoms by which it is
identified. This point is important, because treatment for sciatica or sciatic
symptoms often differs, depending upon the underlying cause of the symptoms and
pain levels.
This morning when one of my patients, whom we were
able to help with sciatica, came in with thrilling-for-her news. Originally, when she first came to see me,
she was suffering with sciatic pain traveling all the way down to her foot for
over 2 years. After we had begun
treating her, she was gradually improving and by 12th visit, she reported to be
absolutely pain free. However, when she
would no longer come for care for 3-6 months, the tightness in the low back
increased and she would come back for care, thinking that if she would not come
for care, she would get sciatic pain again.
To help her maintain the benefit of being pain free
and functional, I suggested that we would address some nutritional deficiencies. After determining that she is having hormonal
imbalance, I recommended a few nutritional supplements that have been very
helpful for numerous other patients who have come to the office with specific
hormonal imbalance. Just 3 days after she
began using the specific supplement, she states that she is no longer having
the tightness in her muscles to which she has grown so accustomed to. There was so much excitement in her voice as
she added that even three-hour drive in a car did not exacerbate her low back
or the sciatica! Instead of tightness
and pain, being on the supplements that she needed for hormonal support, she
was able to maintain relaxed muscles even while driving for 3 hours each
direction.
one more success with lacrimal duct obstruction

Lacrimal duct is also known as tear duct or nasolacrimal duct. On occasion it can get obstructed, closed or blocked. It is the passage from the medial side of the eye into nasal cavity. Lacrimal duct obstruction is a common condition in infants, when the canal that helps tears drain from the eye into the nose is ocluded in some way. It could be blocked by inflammation due to some infection or by the bony structures themselves. As you know, scull is made of numerous bones and they all need to move well relative to each other and their "joints" are called sutures. When that motion is not present, lacrimal duct will be obstructed.
Last week I had a patient who 4 months earlier was brought because of the symptoms related to lacrimal duct obstruction and the primary care doctor had scheduled him for a surgery. With the eyes full of puss, one worse than the other, with crusting in the mornings and thus difficulty opening eyes due to such buildup, his mother was looking for an alternative to surgery or at least have a second opinion.
Since previously to this baby, I had numerous children with lacrimal duct obstructions, of which we have had 100% success in just a few visits, I was eager to help this baby as well. After just two visits he was completely asymptomatic with only brief treatment (15 minute visits) of chiropractic and modified craniosacral therapy. It is wonderful to see that the benefit of just a few visits can last for months and the symptoms of lacrimal duct obstruction has not returned even after 4 months.
It is a joy to treat your babies!
Quick recovery from Pneumonia

Pneumonia is an inflammatory condition
of the lung,
especially of the alveoli which are microscopic air sacs in the
lungs, associated with fever,
chest symptoms include cough, chest pain, and difficulty breathing, and have consolidation on a chest X-ray. Pneumonia is typically caused by an infection but there are a number of non
infectious causes as well. The infection
could be bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic.
This morning, one of my patients reported to have the quickest recovery from pneumonia that she could recall. Her typical history has been suffering with pneumonia at least once per year, taking antibiotics of more than one prescription back-to-back suffering with cough and chest pain for at least 1-2 months. This year she has come to get treated at our office and received chiropractic care, physiological therapeutics, specific nutritional/herbal supplementation and acupuncture. Within two weeks she has recovered from the symptoms of pneumonia and is reporting to feeling much better.
